Three exercises I have been Loving
One Arm Kettlebell Squat I love trying out new variations of squats using different equipment; barbell, kettlebell, medicine ball, body weight. You name it, I love keeping variety in my routine. I have most recently tried the one arm kettlebell squat and really love it. Whenever the weight you are holding is more anteriorly (in front) placed which not only works your core like you wouldn’t believe, but it also helps to keep you in an upright position and really focus your energy on your legs. I love the one arm aspect to this side because it forces you to stand upright, not lean and fires up the core as well as the legs and glutes. Try other kettlebell variations I have talked about before such as the goblet hold walking lunges!
Single Leg Hamstring Curl: I am sure you all are farmiliar with the hamstring curl on the stability ball, but if you have mastered this exercise, try the single leg hamstring curl. It is a whole new exercise that really challenges the entire posterior chain of the body and makes your hamstrings and glutes really pop!
TRX Pendulum Swings For this exercises you begin with your feet in the TRX cradles and hands on the ground in a high plank position. You want to make sure you do not let your hips sag down to the ground. To begin the movement, you swing your legs to the left and right, allowing the hips to rotate toward each side. Keep the motion controlled and try to keep your feet together. Aim for a few each side and progress to add longer length of time or reps for the next workout. This exercise is amazing because it challenges your entire body; core, legs, glutes, shoulders, back and arms. Give it a try!

My Brother is Getting Married next weekend! Oh my gosh, the countdown is on in my family and I cannot wait. The wedding is out of town and I will be swamped next week between getting prepared for the wedding and still working all day everyday. I am so looking forward to seeing my brother and his fiance take their vows and be a part of this amazing celebration.
The Boston Marathon is on Monday! I work downtown right in the hub of the race and always look forward to this time. The city is crazy (in a good way!) These runners have trained their butts off and its so amazing to see them all cross the finish line after achieving their goal! I am not a runner myself and will never be, but I know all of the hard work, focus and dedication it takes to train for the final 26.2. I have complete and utter respect for all of thsoe participating!
