LUNCH TIME AT THE NEW PRANA CAFE!!
I was so excited about this! this cafe JUST opened up in my town…it is 100% raw/vegan and I have heard rave reviews about it, so my mom and I went to check it out! This place is so calm filled with warm hues of baby blues, pinks, lime greens, just the colors you would expect to soothe and calm you down. This place was packed!! every table was taken, we even had to wait, but that was ok with us because we took a seat in some comfy couches.
We finally got seated and got our orders into the kitchen.
My order: Southwestern Salad “ole! A taste of the old Southwest in Newton, Mass. With “unfried” beans, creamy avocado, and sour cream” (obviously this is a raw restaurant so it was made with cashew, brazil nut milk)
This salad was awesome! Filled with flavors I could tell such as coriander, curry and chili. The topping on that romaine is a blend of nuts and dates and is both sweet and savory, an awesome combo!
My Mom’s Order: The Best Salad Ever! “Our creamy ceasar dressing tossed with diced romaine, hearty avocado, dulse, and croutons (made with pine, walnut and brazil nut) Served with nori roll sheets on the side to wrap it up and make it a meal!
We Split: “Red” marinara and nut cheese topped with marinated portabello mushrooms and sweet onion
The pizza was delicious but very rich! I couldn’t even eat half of it! I am not a vegan or a raw food eater, but i do love this stuff! I am sure veggiegirl would know how to make this : ) I believe the base was made with some sort of nut blend, it was smooth and crunchy! The mushrooms were deliciously marinated and sweet and the onions packed a nice punch to balance out the flavors!
Here is a pic of me chowing down…I look somewhat unpleased, but trust me, thats just me not being coopertive posing for the camera awkwardly…I did enjoy this pizza to its fullest : )
On each table were nice little notes that really added a nice touch and a reminder to just slow down in life ever once in a while
This resturant was great, a bit on the pricey side, but awesome..I will be back.
Nice Job Prana Cafe!
