How we doing peeps?? Well your gal over here had a bit rough start to this lovely Tuesday Morning. Twice a week I work at 5am and I usually grab a run in those mornings. SO I went to go grab my ipod and my 32 oz aquafina spills.all.over.my.sneaks!! Yes I had to run in some soggy Brooks š Well it was still an awesome run. I did 3.75 miles and was on the treaddy for about 40 minutes because I ended with some incline walking. When I run I NEVER stay at one speed usually it looks like this
min 0-2 4.0 speed, 4.0 incline (my warm up)
min 2-4Ā 6.2 speed, 1.0 incline
min 4-5 6.5 speed, 0 incline
min 5-7 6.2 speed, 2.0 incline
min 7-8 7.0 speed, 0 incline
min 8-10 6.2 speed, 3.0 incline
min 10-11 7.5 speed, 0 incline
min 11-13 6.2 speed, 4.0 incline
min 13-14 8.0 speed, 0 incline
min 14-16 6.2 speed, 5.0 incline
min 16-17 8.0 speed, 0 incline
min 17-19 6.2 speed, 4 incline
min 19-35 alternating sprints and light jogĀ
35-40 cool down
After this run I did some dynamic stretching which I will talk about in another post because i am a HUGE advocate for this type of stretching over static to loosen your muscles
Breakfast was much needed, and coffee, obviously! I have gone a week without splenda!! This was a goal for myself! I use truvia, I know i know its stillĀ artificialĀ but this is HUGE for me NOT having those little yellow packets!!
This is typically what my breakfast looks like when I bring it along with me. I always cook my oatmeal at work in the micro and bring my own from home. they DO have a cafe with acutally what looks like a very extensive ‘oatmeal bar’ including toppings like coconut, banana pieces, raisins, cranberries, walnuts, almonds, brown sugar. Still, there is something warm and cozy about making my own!
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 truvia packet
- few slices of a nanner
- lots O’ Cinnamon
- frozen bluebs and strawberries mixed in at the end
- walnuts for those healthy fats and deliciousness
Snack today (and most days!) was fage greek mixed with cinnamon and a delish gala apple from our apple picking this weekend!!
this fueled me until it was lunch time! I came home and made a lovely, lip smacking salad. I don’t know why but even when I am at home, eating at my house I like to make my salads in a tupperware container! Don’t ask me why I do this, but I just do! I also have a ‘thing’ for plastic spoons. I will not eat ice cream or anything frozen off a metal spoon, those utensils always have to be plastic for this foodie!!
Salad made with romaine, yellow pepper, cukes, pomegranate (the BEST part!) grilled chicken, sprouts, walnuts,Ā broccoliĀ Ā
homemade dressing made with the last of my farmers market Cheshire Farm raspberry maple mustard- I even made it in the last of the container to get every bite!!
- last of the mustard
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- some mango chutney from TJ’s (almost out!!)
- 1 tsp honey
So after my delish lunch I was ready to go tackle my errands! I was a mad woman all around town! I had to pick up a present for a friend and I decided to go to a local candy store called Indulge.Ā Indulge is a gourmet candy store with more selection that I have EVER seen. They do a tremendous job with gifts too! I chose a beautiful mug and made a custom bag of candy!
Would you Puh-leaseeee look at the selection in this place?? I saw everything from classic gummi worms and gummi bears to chocolate covered cookie dough and gummi coke bottles!
Questions for you: What is YOUR FAVORITE candy? either now or growing up as a kiddie??
Close up of the Jelly Belly selection (sorry I couldn’t get this to rotate!!) Don’t hurt your neck looking!!
See how pretty they make it!! I just LOVE this mug! Its so colorful and perfect for her š
Oh I forgot to mention the awesome Protein Oat Bar I made last night! these little guys are similar to the overnight breakfast cookie from fitnessista but I freeze them and just make them for 1 to have as a sweet treat!
- 1/4 c oats
- 1/4 scoop chocolate peanut butter protein powder
- 1/2 tbsp almond butter
- 10 raisins
- few slices mashed nanner
- enough water to make it into the doughy paste
- freeze for about an hour and eat!!

Ohmigoodness that candy store looks amazing. -Jessica
I love that New Edition song and I love your salad! It looks so good!
I can’t run at one speed on a treadmill either. I have a short attention span and am constantly playing with the speed button.
Have a great night!
Sour Patch Kids, no question, hands down.
That sounds like an awesome treadmill workout – nicely done!
Sadly, I am also addicted to the S-pack. Except I’m too cheap to buy Splenda, so I buy Twin, which is probably even worse. What’s a girl to do?!
Oh right, try and cut back… pfft… impossible! (For me, but likely not for you! Congrats on going a week without the white stuff!)
that candy store looks like heaven!!! my favorite childhood candy??? kit kats! i still love ’em but now i’m torn between those & pb m&m’s!
Hm, my favorite candy?
I guess Snickers, if I’m being truly honest. But I also love chocolate covered things, like raisins, almonds, and peanuts.
