New Granola Review & Workout Goals

FRIENDS! Hi! How is everyones Monday Yes, two post in one day, actually within a few hours! Thank you all for the congrats on the Opensky Shop opening. I am so excited to get it started. Like I said, I only have a few products now, but it is growing, and look out for deals!

This is a new Under Armor I got last week at City Sports (on sale, I am assuming because of the color, but I love the color!)
This morning I had a few bites of a ripe banana before I got in some AM cardio. I just did 30 minutes on the treadmill, which included a 5 minute cool down. I was seeing my trainer this afternoon but I was itching to run, since I have taken about 2 weeks off.
My run was great! I refueled with 1/3 C oat bran, frozen berries added at the end, cinnamon and chunky PB

I Love this Bliss lotion!!! I have been using it so much lately because it absorbs fast and I love the subtle, fresh scent!
This week is all about pears, not apples! I usually have 1 apple a day, but in the store yesterday, these Bosc’s looked so juicy and good, I got 5 of these to bring to work (1 a day!) I bring a bag of 5 on Mondays, and keep them in the fridge.
I also had some greek yog with Kays protein bites. I love this combo of crunchy and creamy.
Lunch was a veggie-rific salad with some tofu salad on the side. I also had two spicy additions to my salad
Chipotle x2! Sabra Chipotle Hummus and Trader Joes Chipotle Salsa. Both were delicious and my mouth was on FIRE!
The salsa was awesome! Chunky, smokey, spicy and delicious!
I also think I got the best sample package EVER. I recieved this package from Udi’s granola. This is 10 bags of granola!!!!
Little Background on the granola itself
How We Make Our Granola
It takes time, it takes attention, it takes a little extra effort. And it’s worth every bit of it.
  • Mixing 
    We mix oats, honey, whole nuts, vanilla and canola oil together very gently, to evenly coat them with our honey mixture without crushing them into small pieces.
  • Baking 
    We smooth this mixture onto sheet pans, place it on an oven rack, then wheel it into a Revent rotating convection oven that slowly bakes the granola.
  • Cooling
    When the granola comes out of the oven, we remove it from the sheet pans to cool on Boos Block butcher tables, then massage it by hand to break up the clumps. Once it’s cooled, we hand-mix in whichever dried fruits the recipe calls for.
  • Packing
    The finished granola is then put into a weigh and fill machine, to dispense the correct amount of granola into each package. We then seal the bags and print them with a 6-month expiration date.
  • Aside from the love and care put into our original granola recipe, we also devote special attention to finding the very best ingredients available: thick-cut rolled oats, pure vanilla, and hearty, flavorful pieces of dried fruits and toasted nuts, bursting with flavor.

I LOVED the chewiness and crunchyness of this granola. It wasn’t too sweet which was perfect and I loved the pieces of dried fruit in here.

Next up, was the Cranberry (gluten free) Granola. You can see by the simple ingredient list that these guys don’t mess around! THis is the real stuff

Again, I loved the pieces of fruit in here and the granola was nothing less than delicious! I can’t wait to try them all!

I had my workout with my trainer which was awesome. I am really looking to build my strength and be able to do unassisted Pull ups and supine pull ups

I want to do 15 of these, perfect. So we are working on my strength a bit more and making my workouts a bit more focused on either upper or lower body, rather than all over the place full body, which I LOVE but I want to be a bit more focused. I am excited! Of course, there is always plenty of hard core-core!

  • If you owned a restaurant what would the name of it be and what would it serve? I always think about this! I think it would be awesome to have a restaurant where customers could customize everything…They choose the protein, veggies, piece of bread or no bread, sides, everything and create their own meal with my delicious ingredients! It would be called “Custom Foodie”
