Hey guys! How was everyones weekend? Mine was great! very relaxing and wish it was still Saturday. WOW what amazing responses I recieved on my last post regarding plastic surgery. I learned that some of you had some funny, insightful and great things to say about why you are or are not for plastic surgery:
Holly: I am okay with people have plastic surgery if 1. it’s for themselves, not for attention or anyone else, and 2. they realize that, like many things, it can become addictive. I think Heidi has even admitted to being addicted, which is sad because she WAS so cute before all of those surgeries.
Jenny: I actually did a project on plastic surgery in one of my classes last year nad I can’t believe the statistics regarding the malfunctions and deformities that result from it. I am a firm believer that God created all of us as unique and special individuals, and we should be grateful for what we have rather than trying to change that! Conversely, I definitely think that people who are born with deformities that may impair their means of leaving are totally justified to seek plastic surgery.
Susan: I’m back and forth on plastic surgery. I know some people who’ve had things done because of abnormalities and it was a positive experience for them, but I could never see myself doing it just for the sake of doing it. Heidi was SO cute in the first season! There wasn’t anything wrong with her. It’s kind of sad 🙁
Gabriela: LOVED Heidi on the first two seasons of the Hills, she was kind of flighty but endearing and adorable. Now, she looks like a complete alien. I don’t disagree with plastic surgery if someone is truly self-conscious about something and has thought long and hard about it, but changing your entire appearance and body is insane.
Jil: Oh Heidi…she’s in a league of her own for sure. I feel bad…it’s like a cry for help or something. I’m okay with plastic surgery if it’s not for reasons like attention, etc. Personally, I don’t think I’d ever do it but I don’t think I can judge someone’s decisions about their own body (hypocritical after my Heidi statement…but…anyway). I can be hard on myself…depends on the day, my mood…what’s going on. I try not to be, though – and I’m much better than I was.
Homecookedem: But as far as my opinion on plastic surgery, I think it depends on the situation. I don’t judge women who get their boobs done b/c if it makes them feel more confident, that’s great. If a woman has had babies or has lost a lot of weight and wants to get a tummy tuck, I say go for it! But the problem comes when a woman is addicted to it (like Heidi) and does way too many procedures to completely change themselves. I just think that is messed up and she obviously has major issues

Sunday night dinner, I learned that HOMEMADE TURKEY MEATBALLS are so much better than anything I would order at a restaurant. Period.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb 99% lean turkey breast (ground)
- 1 Egg
- 1/3 C chopped fresh basil
- 2 cloves diced garlic
- 1/4 C oatbran (to hold it together)
- 2 TSP italian seasonings (dried)
Method:
- Combine everything in 1 bowl and mix with hands until well incorporated.
- Form about 1-2 inch meatballs and place on a sprayed baking sheet
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes (flipping halfway)
These were SO good!
I enjoyed about 3 1/2 meatballs with some roasted brocolli and tomato sauce and 1 Laughing Cow wedge
And a nice little salad on the side of baby romaine, red pepper, sprouts and cucumbers, dressed with balsamic vinegar.
