Its almost the weekend, so so close!! But first, lets get through Friday shall we?
My day started out lovely with a nice 2 mile walk. We have a competition going on at work and pedometor steps are calculated everyday, so I wear a pedometer these days from the second I wake up to the second I go to bed. I wanted to get those steps counted! My walk was great, but after 2 miles (in 31 minutes) I came back and felt like I walked forever!! Sure, I can go run 4 miles, no big deal but after walking for just 2 measly miles, it feels like I was gone for SO much longer…why do you think this is?
I took it easy this morning before work, because today I taught SPIN later in the day. I haven’t taught in a couple months and it felt good to teach again!
I came home and got ready to make some major b-fast. I was extra hungry beacause as soon as I get up, I have to take one of my antibiotics, then wait at least 45 minutes to eat something! I chopped up about 1/3 of a granny smith apple I had in the fridge
I added it to 1/3 C oatbran with 1 TBSP chia seeds and some stevia
Mixed with 1/2 banana, 1 egg white (whipped in at the end) and frozen blueberries. Cinnamon!!!
Um, That was goooood. Apples more often need to make appearences in my breakfasts.
WICKED good coffee. Yes, I am from Boston, I say Wicked. Just like my girl, Morgan
Some salad with mushrooms, cucumber, red pepper, tomatoes and homemade dressing!
Time to make some more! I make a big jar full of dressing and leave it at work for my salads. It was olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rice wine vinegar, dijon mustard, honey
Raspberry Zinger tea! I love fruity tea lately. This would also be amazing iced in the summer!
Pre Spin snackage at around 4:15 (spin is 5:45) 3 oz sweet potato with 1 TBSP crunchy PB, 1/2 C Cottage cheese and lots of cinnamon! I am in love.

After seeing Missy’s post today about her new class she took at the spin studio. I got thinking about fitness trends. What makes trends and gadgets so popular. I am all for trying new things, but I think the key to seeing if they work is their staying power. Right now for instance, there is a HUGE rush of people doing workout DVDs like core fusion, Insanity, P90x etc….Although it is very popular right now, will people be doing these workouts for years to come?
What about classes like Zumba or Yogalates? Will these be around in 2020, or will something new evolve? What happened to step classes or cardio kick boxing? these days I see them on group fitness schedules far and in between.
Being in the fitness industry myself, all of these trends always catch my attention right away, and I am always eager to try them out to see what I think about them!
- Are there any current fitness trends you like or have liked, but don’t think will be around for too long? Would you continue to do them even when they become ‘un-trendy’
- What do you day dream about when you have time to yourself? I always think about where I will be in 5 years, what my life will be like!
- Favorite male actor right now (thats easy on the eyes) Channing Tatum for me!!
