Spoon Collector

Happy Friday! Apologies for not posting yesterday. I got home from work around 8:30 PM and had to open today at 5am, so I got right into bed asap. Today is a beautiful partly cloudy day here in Boston, so I was happy that I was out of work at 12:30! 
Yesterday for breakfast I made a repeat bowl of stove top oats! These were so good the day before, I had to repeat. I went for a 35 minute walk outside to really make sure I worked up an appetite!!
  • 1/2 Oats
  • 1 C water
  • 1/2 C almond milk
  • 1 T chia seeds
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 diced strawberries
  • handful fresh blueberries
  • roasted almonds
  • dash nutmeg (!)
  • cinnamon
  • 1 scoop sun warrior protein powder
Just as good, the second time around

I had a soymazing muffin mid morning. This batch I used the Sun Warrior protein powder and loved it! THis protein makes everything taste so dense and almost doughy-like.


For lunch I got to use my new Annie’s salad dressing. I am not a HUGE fan of fruity salad dressings, I prefer balsamic vinegar or vinegrette, but being the HUGE mango fan that I am, this stuck out to me.

Verdict: Meh, I thought it was just OK. It tasted somewhat artificial and not very ‘mango-ey’ to me. I think it would be delcious mixed with some balsamic vinegar and dijon mustard though!

My workout yesterday was that I taught SPIN at work. Every other Thursday I teach spin now, which is nice! I miss it, so I get my fix 🙂 I will post the play list in my next post, I don’t have it on me right now!

Thats right! Today was the 59 minute Max Cardio Circut and it was HARD. This was my first day doing this CD, because on Monday when I was supposed to do it, I had to do the FIT TEST (I am increasing in my numbers by the way!! and I did about half of this DVD) today, I did the whole thing! I burned 601 calories with a max HR of 174. PHEW

Repeat oats breakfast, but because they were eaten at work, I didn;t have any nutmeg (tear)

Juicy Pink Lady at around 11:00. I also had an unpictured vanilla Chobani.

After work, I met my momma at Forty Carrots! I went here on my birthday, but didn’t take any pics (don’t know why!) This restaurant/cafe is located inside Bloomingdales and makes ROCKIN’ salads! They are also known for their soft serve yogurt, so its a big hit!

I went with the Forty Carrots Chopped Salad: Romaine lettuce, radicchio, grilled chicken, avocado, caulifloer, chick[eas, diced cucmbers, green beans, gruyere cheese, hard boiled egg, tomatoes and Forty Carrots balsamic vinegrette

Seiously? How AMAZING is this salad. I Love that it is packed with so many veggies! This is hard to find!

Water with lemon for me, diet Coke with lemon for momma. Not to mention I am obsessed with the colors in this restaurant!


My salad! It was the perfect size. Not too big and not too small and the perfect amount of grilled chicken. I hate when they either PACK it on, and I end up eating 10 oz worth of chicken breast, or they throw on 2 measly pieces. This was per-fect.

I hated it

 My mom got one of the special salads which was romaine, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and fresh cut turkey breast. It was phemon as well.

ENded with a mountain of coffee fro-yo ( I didn;t really want any to begin with, and I do NOT like coffee ice cream, which is ironic, because I can’t go a day without DRINKING coffee, but the icecream is not for me!) My mom enjoyed about 3/4 of it though! THere was so much!

I also am obsessed with the spoon it came with. I kept thinking of a way to sneak it in my bag (juuust kidding!) But I do have a wierd obession with spoons, and I have decided that I am going to start COLLECTING SPOONS! I love ‘collecting’ things and I have collected many thigns in my past such as shot glasses, quotes, cds, charms, plastic rings from those vending machines…and now at 24 I have decided that I am collecting spoons!!!

I got the cutest one from Crate and Barrel after lunch! I love this!!!

Its tiny and perfect, and I <3 it!!!
