Hey friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Mine was great and today is the start of my last week at work before I start my new job. I am so excited as to what the future has in store, I am just bursting with excitement!
Yesterday, I went to a Zumba class that my friend teaches. The studio is right downtown Boston. Afterwards, we went to lunch at the Otherside Cafe. The Otherside Cafe is well known for having a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan options (tempeh, tofu, even some raw dishes as well) It has a very hipster, eccentric, funky vibe inside which was so unique! It has a super relaxed “Californian” type atmosphere” filled with young professionals just lounging and relaxing while enjoying delicious, healthy food.
The outside of the restaurant boasts a great patio complete with umbrellas and packed with tables for patrons. It was a bit warm out and since we were quite warm already from Zumba, we opted for indoor seating
I got the half and half (Half salad and half sandwich combo) For my sandwich I went with the California wrap on a whole wheat wrap. It was packed with sprouts, avocado, red onion, turkey and tomato. I got spicy mustard on the side)
I got the Greek Salad with Turkey as my salad choice. It was served with pita wedges and I got the olive oil and vinegar on the side as well.
It was a delicious, light, perfect meal!

Today was a cardio only day for me. I took a break on the weights and focused on a great sweat session! I have to pat myself on the back for a delicious lunch I packed as well
I used the Whole Foods salad container, but the salad was all me! Baby spinach, mushrooms, sprouts, red pepper, fresh basil, sweet potato, chicken breast and I topped it with salsa and balsamic vinegar.

Now, I want to share with you some staple “things” that I will call “Fat Loss Gear” These are my go-to items to help me to stick with my healthy lifestyle! These items are my top buys for staying healthy, well balanced, hard working and focused! Be sure to check out my fat loss tips for my favorite foods and recipes as well!
Blender Bottle: I LOVE these bottles because of the shaker it comes with! When I am in a rush, I just throw in a scoop of protein powder, some ice, water and almond milk and you have yourself a protein shake in a pinch! I also love the size of it for toting around my protein shakes that I make at home in my blender when I DO have time to blend it all up! I use the blender bottle to hold everything from some of my delicious protein shakes like the Choco-Coconut Strawberry Post workout shakes to homemade iced coffee!
Green Monster Smoothie
-1/2 C Frozen spinach
1 T unsweetened cocoa powder
-1/2 C unsweetened almond milk
-1 C water
-6 ice cubes
-Pinch of stevia (optional)
Black Capris: These are my go to lower body clothing of choice. I hate working out in long pants because I always find the bottoms get caught under my shoe. The capris I wear land right underneath my knee which ensures that they stay put. I love wearing them for workouts such as my quad focused workout ! I really do not enjoy working out in shorts because I am always incorporating some sort of plyometrics or even a little cardio into my workouts, so I hate that ‘riding up’ effect that happens with shorts. They are the best for my all time favorite form of HIIT Cardio! (Sprints!) Capri spanex are where its at! You do not have to spend loads of money on them either! My favorites I found at Target, Forever 21, Under Armor and Lululemon!
Blender/Magic Bullet: I use this every single day, whether it be my bigger blender or my magic bullet. I use this kitchen gadget for all sorts of food prepping. I use my magic bullet to beat up eggwhites so they are fluffy, blend olive oil and vinegar with spices and mustard for low fat, fat blasting salad dressings and of course use them both for protein shakes! Some other uses of my bullet are:
-Blending avocado for guacamole
-Blend ½ C tomates, 1 clove garlic, ¼ C green pepper, salt, pepper, jalepeno for homemade salsa
-Blend almonds + a little vegetable oil for homemade almond butter
-Blend ½ C cottage cheese, stevia and 1 scoop protein powder for protein mousse
-Blend ¼ C berries, ¼ C oatmeal, ½ C liquid eggwhites, stevia, baking powder for berry protein pancakes
Ipod: Ok, this is a HUGE one. I simply cannot have a kick butt workout if I don’t have my music on me. I literally take my ipod with me everywhere just in case I have time to grab a workout even on the go! I have a great case for my ipod that is sweat friendly, and the headphones I love are by SkullCandy (I find them at Marshalls for $9.99) These stay in my ears 100% of the time and the sound is awesome! I have everthing on my ipod from Lil Wayne, Cascada and Pitbull to Mariah Carey, Afrojack, Avicii, David Guetta, Daddy Yankee, Nickleback and Flo-rida. My favorite type of music to workout to is more house/dance music. These are some of my current WORKOUT favorites. Most are higher energy, perfect for cardio, or simply some dancing in your house!
Sunshine by David Guetta + Avicii
Seek Bromance by Tim Berg
Lose Control by Keri Hilson Ft. Nelly
Danza Kuduro by Don Omar
Vamos A La Playa by Loona
Welcome to St. Tropez by DJ Antoine
Pressure by Nadia Ali, Starkillers (Alesso Remix)
Prutaaa by Afrojack
Got to Lova Ya by Sean Paul Ft Alexis Jordan
Save The World Tonight by Swedish House Mafia
Feelin Good by Flo-Rida and Avicii
Till Tonight by Laidback Luke
Tupperware: I pack my meals every.single.day. Yes the prep takes some time, but if you prep right, you will spend about an hour or two doing everything for the week! I don’t know what I would do without my Tupperware! I plan out my meals so I can grab and take them to my car, to work, to appointments, to the gym. I have a plethora of all different sizes as well so I can carry small items like salsa or salad dressing to bigger items such as salads, cut up fruit or small meals (chicken, veggies, starch) If you are aiming for fat loss, packing your own meals is a must!! I would certainly invest in some good quality Tupperware; either plastic or glass, whichever you prefer!
Tupperware salad!
Workout Folder: This is my holy grail folder of all sorts of workouts. In my purse you will find (amongst other things) My wallet, chap stick, sugar free gum, my ipod and my workout folder) I print out all of my CSF workouts each other in addition to the supplemental and functional workouts we receive. I also print out fun and effective workouts that I find while browsing blogs, the internet and different websites. I keep EVERYTHING in here and if I were to ever lose this I don’t know what I would do. To truly see results, you must set goals, stay organized with your workouts and know what you are doing before you walk into the gym. Seeing my workouts on paper and bringing them with me really helps me to stay on track and furthermore, provides me with a sense of accomplishment after I have finished.
I have many more items that belong in my “Fat Loss Gear” post, so I will just provide you with these for today and do a second post soon!
