Oh hiiiii there!! Its Wednesday! That means we are halfway through the week and for me this is my last full week at my current job. I am so excited good things happening in my future, to be honest this week is just creeping by, but thats okay…its all of the anticipation!
Did you check out my Fat Loss gear?! You should! Why? Because I said so. (Have you seen that movie with Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton? It’s a cute one!)
Are you curious to see some things I am loving right now? Great! I thought you were
This song. David Guetta and Avicii “Sunshine” I have listened to it on repeat for a few days now, and nope not sick of it yet! Usually I am not a huge fan of songs that have NO lyrics (such as this one) but the beat in this song is just intoxicating. Great for working out, or dancing. In the house. Alone. Just sayin.
This perfume. Lola by Marc Jacobs. I bought the roller ball tube instead of the big spritzer bottle because I wanted to wear it a few times to see if I really liked it before making the investment. Perfume is not cheap! All I think about is when my Givenchy “Hot Couture” nearly full glass bottle dropped from my cabinet onto the tile floor and splattered everywhere. My heart sank. I was so sad. So I’m taking it slow with new perfumes, but I love this one.
Lola as described from Sephora: This warm floral bouquet conveys the free spirit of today’s sexy, modern girl – she is playful, cool, and flirtatious. The long-lasting, day-and-night scent opens with pink peppercorn, pear, and ruby red grapefruit. Blooming midnotes of rose, fuschia peony, and geranium make a feminine statement. Layers of vanilla, warm tonka bean, and creamy musk create a sensuous drydown
Miss Marilyn on Instagram. I love this picture. Everytime I look at it, I cannot help but to smile. If anyone wants to get me this, blown up, framed, I would love you forever. Just sayin. Again.
The gorgeous views of Boston. I love this city. I am so sad that the summer is slowly coming to an end, but I also am so grateful that in New England we get to experience all four seasons. I would get bored with just one temperature and weather all year round. And the best part of fall? BOOTS!
Working in the city. Yes I will be working in the city and I cannot wait. (That big building is the Prudential Center for those who aren’t from the area)
This picture. I acutally took this months ago when I saw it on the street while wandering in the city. I loved it and sent it right to my mom, who works in the coffee business. She loved it. And of course, the coffee addict that I am, I had to share it with all of you.
This circuit from JillFit.com Its effective, effecient and a great way to incorporate a great, quick leg workout into your routine
Well of course, the list isn’t complete with Marylous Iced coffee! I am so sad because I don’t live near one. I get one each and everytime I am on the way to or from Cape Cod or happen to be out near the South Shore because thats where the Marylous are mostly located. Marylou, if you are reading this. Come into Boston, please!! This was a white chocolate chip iced coffee with skim milk. Yeah. Amazing.
I am also loving playing around with new workouts. I am a huge fan of experimenting in the gym when it comes to workouts, sets, reps, angles etc. I would get so bored following the same program over and over again for months-I don’t know how some people do it and trust me, I have seen some people stick with the same program for years. I can honestly tell you I see people workout at the same time, same exercises, same rest, same everything, every single day. Blah. No way.
Since my last show, I have really worked hard on my body. I have gained more muscle, lost more fat and I am acutally really proud of my legs, for once. It took me a long time to appreciate my legs and realize that they are now one of my most respected and defined body parts. I tried SO many things in the gym to get my legs, glutes and hamstrings where they are today (and I only want to improve from here!) For me, higher rep work and somewhat lighter weight (still heavy though) works for my body a bit better than heavy heavy leg work (say 5-6 reps) I usually stick to anywhere from 12-20 repetitions for leg exercises and always add in plyometrics. <---- those are some of my favorites!!
Try out some of my leg workouts and if I don’t list any plyo moves, feel free to add in your own such as:
Jump squats (3 sets 10 reps)
Jump Lunges (3 sets 10 reps each leg)
Straddle jumps on step (3 sets 15 reps)
Bench Jump squats (3 sets 10 reps)
So where was I going with this? Well…I am happy with the development of my lower body and glutes, HELLO INCLINE SPRINTS and GLUTE BRIDGES)
Anyway, I want to work on my upper body, specifically shoulders. I try a lot. I mean all sorts of tactics to really bring out the fullness of my shoulders. This picture was taken about a week ago. I use it as inspiration to help see my shoulders GROW!
This week I am going to try some different shoulder tactics such as more metabolic effect style training/tabata style. Timed workouts, taking rest when I need it and pushing myself really cranking on the upper body, staying shoulder specific
I am going to try this workout:
Seated Shoulder Press: 10x
Side raise: 10x
Front raise/Rear delt combo: 10x each side
*****Repeat this entire circuit for anywhere from 10-20 minutes
I also like this workout which I will try (on a different day)
1 arm DB shoulder press: 15x each side
1 arm DB upright row: 15x each side
Lateral raise: 25x
Push Press: 15x
*****Repeat this entire circuit for anywhere from 10-20 minutes
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Questions:
- Do you have a ‘workout schedule’ that you follow to a “T” or do you like to switch it up often?
- Where do you find your workouts? Do you have a trainer, or get inspiration from magazines or blogs?
